June 10, 2015 Biking Across Kansas visited Goessel

Biking Across Kansas at Keith's
These bikers were among the first to arrive in Goessel

Captain von Goessel greets guests
Captain von Goessel showed up to greet the biking guests

Biking works up an appetite
Lunch was served to the early birds.

Ice Cream and snow cones.
The Goessel Library gave bikers a cool treat.

Sign out side on Main St.

The ice cream was so good!

The bikers increased the population
The population of Goessel increased three times.

Bikes everywhere.

More bikes

And more bikes.

The Branding Iron was popular.
The Branding Iron was busy all day.

The Tabor Men know BBQ chicken

The Museum served supper
Baked Potato Bar or Bierocks for supper.

Improvised clothes line.
This biker made dual use of tall flag on his bike.

The air conditioned gym.
Instead of a tent the air conditioned gym floor was chosen

The new gym was used also.

The softball field was full

Fifty five tents were counted
On the softball field fifty five tents were counted, maybe more, I lost count.

The support crew unpacked gear
There was a large support crew that helped this traveling city move from place to place.

Country Threshing Days takes place on the grounds of the Mennonite Heritage and Agricultural Museum
